BRIEF: Yuba Sutter Arts' next project to be created by active duty military and veterans

Appeal-Democrat - 7/31/2018

July 31--Yuba Sutter Arts announced its next art project, created by and for active duty military and veterans. The project is called "Ceramics for Veterans -- With Just a Hundred Pounds of Clay" and will be led by U.S Air Force veteran and well-known northern California ceramic artist, Chris Thompson.

"Art is about bringing community together. I believe it can be a unifying source in the social fabric of our society," Thompson said. "I enjoy making art that speaks about social awareness of social needs and especially art that supports our veterans."

The program will last 10 months, meeting once per week beginning Aug. 15, and is free of charge to veterans, active military and their families. To register or for additional information e-mail david@yubasutterarts.com.
