Agency's special services assist military, veterans

News Enterprise - 5/22/2018

May is Military Appreciation Month, which is a time for the public to show its appreciation for troops of past and present.

The Better Business Bureau celebrates our service men and women every day of the year by offering the BBB Military Line.

The BBB Military Line was established in 2004 and located within BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust. The goal is to bring education and BBB services to military consumers and their families.

Military consumers often are targeted by scammers for identity theft, predatory lending, questionable "investments" and more. This program provides a variety of services ranging from instruction about financial literacy to connecting military consumers with local BBB service.

It also provides a dedicated e-newsletter called the Trusted Scout, which provides information on military-related consumer issues.

Most of the resources for the BBB Military Line can be found at www/bbb.org/military. However, the BBB serving Louisville, Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky also participates in local military and veteran activities. The regional office also can provide speakers who can discuss the world of consumer issues and protection.

To learn more about the BBB Military Line, go to www.bbb.org/military or call 703-276-0100.
